Brandy Williams

The “She Knew” Project celebrated Brandy Williams today!

Brandy is a champion… Amazing Wife and Mom to 3 great kids, 13 Month old Olivia and Boys Rushton-11 & Ashton-15. Between her full time job and busy family, her time is spent pouring into those around her and we wanted to do the same for her. She is Beautiful, inside and out… Worth Far More than Rubies… and we wanted to make sure that “She Knew” she was beautiful. We started the day with Starbucks (of course) and were off to the salon for a cut and color Compliments of stylist Jeane Broadhead of Innovations Salon. From there it was shopping, a stop for lunch, more shopping and then makeup by the gifted & talented Gentry Shaffer. Through laughter (and tears) and encouragement from strangers, we had an amazing day… take a look at some of the highlights…

Brandy’s personal written story about the day:

When I was first asked if I would like to be a participant in ““She Knew” I was excited and a little nervous. I was excited because I get to spend the day with 3 amazing women and have a fun girls outing, but I was also nervous because I very rarely get to spend a day with friends without having a sporting event to attend or at least having my one year old daughter Olivia with me. Okay, who am I kidding; I was really nervous because I had to leave the kids and sporting events that day up to my husband. Once I got over that I was finally able to have the day off from mom duties and spend it with my friends. I looked forward to this day the whole week leading up to the “girls” outing that I was going to have!

brandy-williams-she-knew-5Lisa knows the way to my heart, so we met at the Starbucks to start the day off. We then went to a salon in Jenks to get my hair colored and cut. I don’t have time to get my hair done from a salon very often or at all for that matter since my schedule is so busy, so this was exciting for me! I was a little apprehensive to have someone new cut my hair, but she did a really good job. While waiting for the color to set on my hair, I was able to get to know a little about the hair stylist and her family. It was just relaxing to sit there while someone else was doing my hair. Much needed by the way.

From there we went shopping and met up with Shannon and Gentry Shaffer. This was another event within the special day that I really looked forward to. Shopping! I never get to shop for myself and this was finally it! Until of course I started trying on clothes and they didn’t fit. After several attempts to find an outfit at one particular store I started to get discouraged and a little teary eyed. At that moment in time I felt pretty down and discouraged. The girls were not about to give up and not find an outfit for me so we decided to try another store. While leaving the store a complete stranger offered a few suggestions to stores she thought I may find an outfit. She could see that I was upset and gave me encouragement and spoke kindwords to me. At that moment those few suggestions and encouraging words meant a lot.

We set off to the next store determined and filled with hope to find an outfit. We finally did! I was able to find clothes that fit! Afterwards we went and had lunch and were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful day. We then set off to the soon to be Faith Church for a make-over by Gentry. This would be the last event for the day and another exciting part of my day. Every woman likes to be made over and feel pretty. This was going to be exciting….. Having my make-up done for me! While the gifted and talented Gentry started working on applying my make-up she starts opening up about the ministry she would like to start of creating her own line of make-up and blessing other women with her talent. I enjoyed listen to her story and future plans. Once she was finished I couldn’t believe how I looked in the mirror. She had done an amazing job! I felt on top of the world.

I enjoyed my experience that day. I enjoyed the fellowship of spending time with other women. It made me realize that I am very blessed to have these wonderful women in my life who I consider friends. I’m blessed to be a part of such a great church who just loves people. I’m blessed to have such a loving husband who will take the kiddos for the day so I can have this experience. I pray that many women will be blessed by this “She Knew” ministry. God is good!
